Lindsey Wilson retains top position in NAIA national poll for for second straight week

For the second-straight week, the Lindsey Wilson College football team is the top-ranked team in the nation according to the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
 

The Blue Raiders garnered 339 total voting points and 13-of-15 first-place votes to retain the top spot in the poll.
 

Lindsey Wilson remains undefeated on the year following Saturday’s 42-17 win over Union (Ky.). After falling in a 10-0 deficit, the Blue Raiders rolled off 42-consecutive points against the Bulldogs to improve to 4-0 on the year, and are one of seven teams remaining in the NAIA without a loss.
 

Behind Lindsey Wilson at No. 2 is Southern Oregon with 321 voting points and one first-place vote, followed by Morningside (Iowa) at No. 3 with 314 points and the final first-place vote. Carroll (Mont.) is No. 4 with 308 points and Saint Xavier (Ill.) completes the top five with 276 points.
 

Fellow MSC West Division member Faulkner (Ala.) joins the Blue Raiders in the poll at No.10. The former No. 3-ranked Eagles fell seven spots after suffering their first loss of the season last week.
 

Reinhardt (Ga.), who is 5-0 on the year, also appears in the poll at No. 13, while Campbellsville (Ky.) is receiving votes.
 

Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 10 as they host Cumberlands (Ky.) for a noon CT kickoff at Blue Raider Stadium.
