Nationally, Bautista is second in home runs, fourth in runs, RBIs and total bases and fifth in slugging. He is a four-time Mid-South Conference Baseball Player of the Week and twice a national player of the week.

Bautista becomes the third Blue Raider in the past four seasons to earn player of the year honors joining Leandro Perez (2012) and Manuel Alonso (2013).

Blue Raiders Aaron Ashton, Brandon Munoz, Bautista, Victor Nazario, Ryan Hartman and Scott Sebald were named first team All-MSC while Daryl Blaskovich, Fabian Chirino and Ryan Harper were named to the second team.

Nazario also picked up Gold Glove honors, which is based upon fielding percentage throughout the season.

St. Catharine’s (Ky.) John Werner earned MSC Pitcher of the Year, Cumberlands’ (Ky.) William Roger earned Freshman of the Year honors and St. Catharine’s Luther Bramblett was named Coach of the Year.

The player of the year, pitcher of the year, freshman of the year and all-conference selections are voted on by the coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players and ties are not broken.

The Blue Raiders face Cumberlands (Ky.) in the opening round of the MSC Tournament on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
