Lyric Theatre hosts ‘Celebration of Gospel: A Family Affair’ as part of its third anniversary

On Sunday, Oct. 27, at 5:00 pm, The Lyric Theatre and Cultural Center will host “The Celebration of Gospel: A Family Affair.”

Produced by Landen Wilson, this show is a musical experience that celebrates both the roots in gospel music of decades past and the gospel of present day.

The program features musical families in the Lexington and surrounding areas who have played an intricate part in local gospel music including The Cox Family with Charlotte Cox-Thompson and Danielle Easley, Cory Kennedy and Remnant, The Campbells, Total Praise, and guest host Barbara Pinkston of The Charles Ford Singers.

“The Lyric’s Celebration of Gospel is going to be an extraordinary family affair featuring some of Lexington’s own. This will be a great way to spend Sunday afternoon as we celebrate an intricate part of the history of this community through songs of inspiration of worship,” says Wilson.

This event is part of The Lyric’s third anniversary celebration, along with other events such as the Historic East End Walking Tour on Oct. 26 at 1:00 pm.
