Murray State announces third installment of ‘Racers Give’ campaign to aid students in need

Murray State University’s “Racers Give” campaign will continue assisting students who are in need of financial assistance through the Racers Give Scholarship Fund.

The campaign hopes to raise at least $200,000 in private support to assist both incoming and current students with tuition, housing, dining and textbook expenses. As part of the campaign, special challenge gifts are currently being planned to aid in the awarding of additional need-based scholarships to be used for students. These gifts are in process and will be announced in the days ahead.

“With the support received last year, we helped secure the educational future of more than 400 students with need-based scholarships through our Racers Give campaigns,” said Murray State President Dr. Bob Jackson. “Thank you for investing in our students – please join me and take part in Racers Give again this year.”

Need-based scholarship support is crucial as students pursue a high-quality, high-impact education at Murray State.

“As a Murray State staff member and an alumna, I know that the needs of our students and their families have never been greater,” said Executive Director of Development Tina Bernot. “In a year when we have faced and risen above so many challenges, please join us and let’s celebrate the season of giving together to support the critical needs of our students.”

“We are proud to continue the momentum of support created through our first Racers Give campaign in order to sustain the Murray State promise offered to our Racer family,” said Director of Annual Giving and alumnus Christian Barnes. “We have made it as easy as possible to give by mail or through the campaign site where you can make a secure, online gift as well as follow the progress of the campaign. We are also very excited to offer a commemorative, limited edition Racers Give t-shirt with every gift of $120 or more.”

The Racers Give scholarship committee is currently in place and reviewing awards for dollars to be awarded to both new and current students through the campaign. New students admitted for the fall are encouraged to complete the scholarship application by visiting murraystate.edu/scholarships or by logging into their myGate account.

Students interested in joining the Racer family can learn more, schedule a virtual or on-campus visit and apply for admission at admissions.muraystate.edu.
