Two former Kentucky high school or college athletes competed in day four of the London Olympics. You can see a rundown of those performances below:
Swimming
Former Saint Xavier High School swimmer Clark Burckle qualified sixth for the men’s 200-meter breaststroke final for Team USA.
Burckle finished second in his semifinal heat in 2:09.11. He also finished second in his qualifying heat in the morning in 2:09.55. Burckle joins American teammate Scott Weltz in the final, where he will start in lane seven.
The 200-meter breaststroke final is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday.
Basketball
Former UK basketball player Anthony Davis scored 12 points in Team USA’s 110-63 win versus Tunisia. Davis added three rebounds and one block in just less than 14 minutes of action.
Davis was a perfect 5-5 from the field and 2-2 from the free-throw line. The U.S. returns to action Thursday against Nigeria.
