Renee Shepard named interim executive director of Living Arts and Science Center Board of Directors


The Living Arts and Science Center’s (LASC) Board of Directors has named Renee Shepard Interim Executive Director of the LASC effective immediately.

Shepard is a proven Lexington leader having served as Executive Director of the Downtown Lexington Corporation (DLC) and the DLC Foundation for 10 years. As a consultant at Graves Shepard Consulting, she brings a wealth of experience in transitions and change management with a focus on development and fundraising. Shepard previously assisted the Lexington Clinic Foundation in an interim role and served on the LASC Board of Directors and Executive Board.

Shepard will partner with the LASC Board of Directors on organizational planning and the Executive Director search. She will oversee financial responsibilities and staff operations, serve as a liaison with the Board of Directors, and maintain the Center’s development strategy.
The LASC is committed to maintaining high standards during the transition and continuing all the high-quality programming you expect.

The LASC Board of Directors has initiated an extensive search for a new Executive Director. A search committee will be named that includes board members and community members to help guide the process.

LASC Board President Joseph Coleman is leading the search. “Over the past 50 years the Living Arts and Science Center has grown into an incredibly strong organization that will attract many great candidates. Renee’s expertise and leadership will help ensure continuity throughout the transition, and our dedicated board and staff members are excited about the next chapter of the Center’s growth.”
