Secretary of State Grimes announces Lillie Ruschell, Taylor Dale Clark as staff additions

Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes has announced Lillie Ruschell will join her office as Director of Communications on Jan. 1. Bradford Queen, who has served in the post since 2015, is departing the Secretary of State’s office to join the private sector early next year.

Ruschell, of Lexington, is coming from KET – Kentucky Educational Television — where she has served in several roles, primarily in public affairs and for the magazine program, Kentucky Life. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Journalism and Media.

“I am thrilled to welcome Lillie to my office. Her love for our Commonwealth and her talent telling Kentucky stories will be an asset as we inform Kentuckians and the broader public about the impact of our work — from elections to business to civic engagement — at the Secretary of State’s office,” Grimes said. “Bradford has been a key member of my team and I am thankful for his service to Kentucky. During his tenure, we have successfully launched historic elections and business initiatives due to his hard work. We are all delighted for Bradford as he moves on to pursue other passions.”

Grimes also announced Taylor Dale Clark will join her communications team to serve as Deputy Director of Communications. Clark, a native of Ashland and graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Journalism and Media, has served in the office as Executive Assistant since 2017.

“Taylor is an engaging spirit and a natural communicator. As I approach the last year of my tenure as Secretary of State, there is much still to accomplish on behalf of all Kentuckians. My team and I are excited for the work ahead and look forward to a productive 2019,” Grimes said.
