Funds distributed by Speedway Children’s Charities chapters at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Sonoma Raceway and Texas Motor Speedway totaled $3.27 million in 2017.

On December 5, the Kentucky Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) hosted its 4th Annual Night of Giving,  and contributed to 25 organizations in Kentucky, Southwest Ohio and Southeast Indiana.

During the event, each organization was individually recognized and received its grant check from SCC Kentucky Chapter Director Dayna Winslette and Kentucky Speedway General Manager Mark Simendinger. Guests enjoyed refreshments and entertainment by local musicians Billy Brown and John Frisch prior to the presentation and check distribution.

“Hands down, the Night of Giving is our chapter’s favorite event every single year. This has become a night to celebrate the local non-profit children’s organizations that have been identified as grant recipients and to praise them for the work they do every day with the children in our service area,” said Winslette. “We are grateful to be able to distribute funds to these organizations and help them continue their work of improving the quality of life for children in our local community.”

Speedway Children’s Charities raises grant money through fundraisers, including clay shoots, track events, holiday light displays, golf tournaments and auctions for unique race experiences like driver ride-alongs and more.

Each chapter provides grants to programs which specifically help children in their respective region. Chapter support comes from providing winter coats and backpack meals to low-income families as well as facilitating clubs that provide healthy after-school activities and aiding hospital cancer research.

“On behalf of everyone at Speedway Children’s Charities, I extend my sincere gratitude to our numerous sponsors, donors, volunteers, drivers and race teams for their generosity and support throughout this year,” said Maj. Gen. Chuck Swannack, executive director of Speedway Children’s Charities. “With their assistance and the hard work of so many people, Speedway Children’s Charities will leave a lasting, positive impact on children in need throughout the country.”
