The Aviation Museum of Kentucky offers visitors a unique experience with new Flight Simulator Center

Kentuckians can now test flying skills, without the risks, at the new Flight Simulator Center, now open every third Sunday at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky.

The development of simulator software and graphics along with hardware that replicates pilot controls have made flight simulators a realistic substitute for actual aircraft training flights. These attributes plus dedicated aviation museum volunteers brought the Flight Simulator Center to reality.

The Flight Simulator Center is a dedicated activity area in Hangar B at the museum. Several simulators are available.

The simulators are open first come, first serve to adults and children at regular admission with no special fee or surcharge. Parental supervision is recommended for minors.

Museum staffing requirements confine the Center’s operation to the third Sunday of each month. Operational hours are from 1 until 4:30 pm. The remaining dates for calendar year 2018 are October 21, November 18, and December 16.

The Aviation Museum of Kentucky is located at 4029 Airport Road, adjacent to Blue Grass Airport in Lexington. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. It is the official aviation museum of the Commonwealth as well as home to the Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame. The museum operates as a non-profit corporation.
