The Carnegie in Covington opens its 2013-14 Theatre Series with the musical CHICAGO, playing weekends Aug. 10–25. Directed by husband-and-wife Ed Cohen and Dee Anne Bryll, the production features choreography by Broadway veteran and Cincinnati native David Baum in his local professional debut. Baum’s wife and fellow Broadway veteran Leslie Goddard stars as Roxie Hart.
Perhaps a first in Kentucky theater, the Covington production includes one other couple in the cast and production team besides Baum and Goddard, and Cohen and Bryll. They are costumer Dean Walz and actor Brian Wylie.
CHICAGO performances are over three weekends in August. The Friday, Aug. 16 and 23, shows begin at 7:30 p.m. as do the shows on Saturday, Aug. 10, 17 and 24, and the final performance Sunday, Aug. 25. The two other Sunday shows on Aug. 11 and 18 are at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $19 – $26 and are available online here or by calling The Carnegie Box Office at 859-957-1940 Tuesday-Friday from noon to 5 p.m.
