“It is with pleasure and complete confidence that the Board of Directors and I confirm Trace Chesser as President and CEO of USA Cares,” said Bill Roby Sr., Board Chairman of USA Cares. “Trace is a dedicated and passionate executive with extensive professional experience in both the military and civilian sectors. Over the past several months, it has become increasingly clear that Trace is the right person to lead USA Cares as we continue to grow awareness for our mission and expand our reach to assist post-9/11 veterans across the country.”

“As an Army combat veteran, I’ve personally experienced many of the challenges that some of our veterans and military families face on a daily basis,” said Chesser. “USA Cares has a strong team of talented and dedicated staff and volunteers, all working to improve the quality of life for those who have served. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead USA Cares forward and continue growing the partnerships and resources vital to the success of our mission.”

Chesser joined USA Cares in February 2018 with the intent of aiding transitioning military, National Guard and Reservist veterans, as well as military spouses, to overcome the challenges they face in obtaining employment opportunities. As Vice President of Career Transition, Chesser focused on assisting clients with creating new careers in the civilian workforce, aiming to send them onward to a road of self-sufficiency.

Before coming on board with the USA Cares team, Chesser was a Managing Partner of SCOUT Solutions Group, an executive search firm. With SCOUT, he was responsible for the business development strategies, policies and procedures, and government contracting operations.

From 2010 to 2015, he served as the Vice President of Career Services for Sullivan University System. There, he was charged with developing new systems that would improve the graduate employment opportunities, increase salaries, and enhance business development opportunities. He was also instrumental in developing relationships with the U.S. military.

Prior to his career in the corporate world, Chesser served in the United States Army, where he served in a variety of roles ranging from combat arms occupations to positions with the U.S. Army’s Recruiting Command. He served as an instructor for the U.S. Army Air Assault School, an Observer and Controller for the Joint Readiness Training Center and in leadership positions within numerous combat operations units.

Chesser served in the Gulf War with the 101st Airborne Division and has an extensive service record to include several military leadership courses and specialized combat operations schools. Chesser holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Sullivan University and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University.
