UK alumni, now NBA stars return to Rupp for game versus Dominican National Team

Eight of the former University of Kentucky basketball stars playing in the NBA may not see any NBA action for awhile due to the league’s lockout, but they will be appearing on the court in Lexington next month.

The UK NBA starts will take on the Dominican Republic National Team, coached by John Calipari, on August 15 at Rupp Arena. Former UK stars John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, Jodie Meeks, Nazr Mohammed, Keith Bogans, Tayshaun Prince and Rajon Rondo will play for the UK pro team and will be coached by Joe B. Hall and Sam Bowie.

The game is not affiliated with the UK Athletic Department, and is being administered by Pro Camps Inc., which also manages several of Calipari’s basketball camps.

Tickets for the game go on sale to the general public on Ticketmaster.com at 10 a.m. on Monday. Members of the Rupp Arena “First in Line Club” can purchase tickets during a presale beginning at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster.

Calipari announced the UK pro team roster on his Facebook and Twitter accounts late Wednesday night. Calipari said he has invited every former UK basketball player to attend the game and be recognized at the event.
