United Way joins forces with Blue Grass Community Foundation, Lexington for COVID-19 Response Fund

Kentuckians are strong, resilient and ready to do what is needed to help create and maintain a safe and healthy community.

But the fact is, many friends and family members will experience hardships as a result of the shut-downs and closures during the COVID-19 response. Even though we are living apart, we can unite to help make a difference.

To help serve more individuals and families across the Bluegrass – United Way of the Bluegrass, Blue Grass Community Foundation and the City of Lexington have joined forces to help provide a rapid community response. We know our most vulnerable individuals and families need help now more than ever.

The Coronavirus Response Fund will rapidly deploy resources to community-based organizations at the frontlines of Central Kentucky’s current Coronavirus pandemic.

The first grant was awarded to God’s Pantry to help deploy 40,000 food boxes to people in-need across our region in the days and weeks ahead.

We need your help to do more. Learn more or make a gift to the Coronavirus Response Fund, or contact Katie Williams at katie.williams@uwbg.org if your business or company would like to join the coalition with a gift of support.

United, the community can leverage and combine resources in order to make deeper impacts across the Bluegrass.
