“Although it wasn’t the typical game that I had seen on my visits, it was still a great first game at home,” Van Lith said. “I really enjoyed the fans. I can’t wait to play in front of them again.”

Evans drained four shots from 3-point range and added seven assists. She also collected a pair of steals.

“If Dana and Hailey continue to develop a chemistry with each other, it could be a really exciting season to watch those two play,” said Louisville head coach Jeff Walz.

Olivia Cochran scored 15 points for Louisville, which is ranked No. 5 nationally. Elizabeth Balogun finished with 12 points and seven rebounds for the Cardinals.

Amerah Steele scored 11 points to lead EKU, which shot just 33.9 percent from the field and committed 20 turnovers. Louisville also finished with a 58-29 advantage in rebounds, including 25 offensive boards.

Emma Hacker chipped in 10 points for EKU, which dropped to 0-2. Alice Recanati added eight points and five assists for the Colonels.

Louisville was scheduled to play at Cincinnati on Saturday, but that game was canceled after a positive COVID-19 case was discovered within the UC program.
