VisitLEX launches new website in redesigned space to offer personalized experience for visitors

As Kentucky restarts tourism efforts, VisitLEX has launched its new website in a redesigned space that offers a personalized experience for every visitor.

The site serves multiple travel audiences and includes a variety of information from attractions, restaurants and a calendar of events to hotels, special event venues and inspirational articles written by locals.

“Every part of the new VisitLEX.com is built around the concept of personalization, which has been a trend since Amazon – we call it the Amazon effect,” said Gathan Borden, vice president of marketing for VisitLEX. “The goal of the website is to provide personalized content to the user based on what they are searching for and provide them with endless pieces of content.”

The site also has enriched content for meeting planners, including a new section highlighting LEXperts, a nod to the intellectual capital found in Lexington. With market segment pages to further drive home the idea of personalization, planners can learn more about specific markets that are ideal for meetings in Lexington, discover thought leaders serving those markets, and learn about the actual sales managers who would assist them on bringing that meeting to Lexington.

“As more and more associations and companies choose meeting sites to host their events based on intellectual capital, we wanted to utilize and showcase the expertise of thought leaders across a wide variety of different markets living in the area,” Borden said. “We believe connecting these individuals to meeting planners will help us continue to attract more conventions and events to Lexington, which, in turn, helps our entire community and region.”

The website also features images of user-generated content (with rights approved) from locals and visitors who use #sharethelex across social media platforms.
