The Wildcats (12-3, 2-0) leaped Louisville in the standings, which fell to No. 18 following its 73-67 home loss to Memphis on Thursday.

The top five had its first shake-up in six weeks. It had been the same five teams in the same order for five weeks in a row, but No. 5 Michigan State topped No. 3 Ohio State, 72-68, on Tuesday. Then the Buckeyes went and lost again Sunday, an 84-74 home loss to Iowa. Wichita State moved in to the top five, replacing Ohio State.

Now well into January, only four teams remain undefeated in Division I: No. 1 Arizona, No. 2 Syracuse, No. 3 Wisconsin and No. 5 Wichita State.
